the practical application of this is proving to be a lot more complex. it’s pretty easy to say what a decolonized diet is, but it is not so easy to actually do it. i set out 13 days ago to “decolonize my diet” as part of a 30-day challenge. this has involved eating no gluten, sugar, dairy, coffee or alcohol. the benefits of such an exercise have proven to be many: i feel really good, energy is up, i’m sleeping well, food-related mood swings seem to have subsided, cravings are few (save thinking daily about a sweet hot latte from the parsonage), and, i’m happy to report, i’m feeling incredibly motivated by all this to continue (maybe even past the 30 days!).
